Report: Collins visiting Bengals after Cowboys release
Offensive tackle La'el Collins will visit the Cincinnati Bengals following his release from the Dallas Cowboys, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.
The Cowboys officially released the right tackle on Thursday after failing to find a trade partner. Dallas designated Collins as a post-June 1 cut, saving $10 million in cap space.
The Bengals already signed guards Alex Cappa and Ted Karras to address their struggles protecting quarterback Joe Burrow.
The NFL suspended Collins for five games last season for violating its substance abuse policy.
Collins, 28, has been a consistent presence on Dallas' offensive line since joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2015, starting 72 games across seven seasons. He played mostly at right tackle but also has experience at guard.
Veteran Terence Steele is likely to replace Collins in Dallas.
