The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Logan Ryan struck a one-year deal Friday following the veteran defensive back's release from the New York Giants, he told CBS Sports' Josina Anderson.

Ryan started 30 of 31 games for the Giants over the past two seasons, notching 209 tackles and 17 pass breakups with one interception. New York saves a modest $775,000 in cap space by cutting him.

Ryan will reunite with former New England Patriots teammate Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. Ryan won two Super Bowls with Brady in New England, and he later intercepted the quarterback on his final pass as a Patriot while playing for the Tennessee Titans.

Logan transitioned to safety with the Giants after beginning his career as a cornerback. The 31-year-old will join a Buccaneers secondary that lost safety Jordan Whitehead in free agency.
