The 25-year-old wideout is signing a one-year, $10.75-million contract with the AFC West club after spending the first five seasons of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Smith-Schuster noted that the opportunity to join an explosive Chiefs offense alongside Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill was too good to pass up.

"I am going to play with a future Hall of Fame QB, to play with one of the best to ever do it," Smith-Schuster told NFL Network's Taylor Bisciotti. "My goal as a player is to win, so I'm going to Kansas City with the hopes of winning a Super Bowl."

Smith-Schuster nearly joined the Chiefs last offseason before returning to the Steelers on a one-year deal.

The former Pro Bowl wideout is coming off a down year after sustaining a shoulder injury that cost him all but five games in 2021. Smith-Schuster returned in the postseason, where Pittsburgh lost to Kansas City.

The Steelers selected Smith-Schuster in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The USC product has racked up 323 receptions, 3,855 yards, and 26 touchdowns through five campaigns in Pittsburgh.
