One dead in small plane crash near Brantford

Provincial police say one person is dead after a small plane crashed near Brantford City Airport on Monday.

Brant County OPP confirmed in a tweet at 9:28 p.m. that they were holding the scene of a crash near the airport in which one person had died.

Police are not providing the name of the deceased until next of kin have been notified.

They say traffic was not affected because the crash happened on private property.

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
