Ontario Provincial Police investigate armed robbery in Hagersville
The Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is investigating after a report of an armed robbery at a Hagersville business.
In a news release, Const. Mary Gagliardi wrote that two suspects with an edged weapon entered the business and obtained cigarettes and money before leaving the business on foot" on March 28, between 5:20 and 5:29 a.m.
The first suspect was described as male, wearing a dark green camouflage jacket with the hood up and a baseball hat underneath and dark pants. He had a dark-coloured mask covering his entire face.
This was the second armed robbery with edged weapons reported in Haldimand in less than a week. Police are also investigating a report of a home invasion where a man and woman allegedly forced their way into a Walpole home on March 24 and tied a victim to a chair before taking cash, credit cards and a debit card.
Police allege the second suspect, also male, was the one with the weapon. He was wearing a black jacket with the hood up, dark blue jeans and a dark-coloured mask covering his entire face.
