Tateolena Tauaifaga died when Christopher Chandler drove into the backyard of her Sydney home during police pursuit in 2015

A coroner has been scathing of police after their pursuit of a criminal led to a 17-month-old girl being crushed to death by a car in a Sydney backyard.

Tateolena Tauaifaga died on 8 January 2015, when a car driven by Christopher Chandler careened through a fence into a backyard in Constitution Hill, in Sydney's west, where she was playing with her three sisters.
