Hornets’ Bridges will accept punishment after hitting girl with mouthguard

• Forward aimed mouthguard at abusive fan and hit bystander
• Incident came during play-in loss to Atlanta Hawks

Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges apologized on Wednesday after throwing his mouthpiece into the crowd and hitting a young fan.

During the Hornets' 132-103 loss against the host Atlanta Hawks in Eastern Conference play-in game, Bridges was ejected with 6:39 remaining in the fourth quarter after receiving two technical fouls.
