Studying celestial bodies presents a number of difficulties - one of which directly relates to the impossibly large scales of distance between sensors and their targets. This week's reveal of the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy, Sagittarius A*, simply wouldn't be possible without millions of compute hours.
