Man wanted for attempted murder in Hamilton sports bar shooting arrested
Hamilton police say Carl Douglas Richard, wanted for attempted murder in a shooting at an Upper Gage Avenue sports bar this weekend, has been arrested.
The 36-year-old turned himself in at the east-end police station shortly before midnight Tuesday, said Const. Indy Bharaj.
A 40-year-old man was shot in the torso early Sunday, May 15, inside Cooler's Sports Bar on Upper Gage, near Fennell Avenue East.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was in hospital in stable condition after the shooting.
Police said the accused and victim know each other and the shooting was targeted.
After the shooting police released Richard's picture and description in an effort to find the man they considered armed and dangerous."
Richard faces charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon and discharging a firearm.
He is expected to appear in court later Wednesday.
