Linc to close in both directions from May 26 to 30
Drivers are being warned to find an alternate route across the Hamilton Mountain next weekend as the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway closes for repairs and maintenance.
The Linc will be shut down in both directions from Thursday, May 26 at 11 p.m. to Monday, May 30 at 4 a.m., the city said in a release.
The Hamilton Mountain parkway will be closed for maintenance work, including spot resurfacing and repairs to the asphalt, bridge and signage repairs, pavement markings, vegetation maintenance, ditching and clearing of catch basins, the release added.
The eastbound closure runs from Golf Links Road to the Upper Red Hill Valley Parkway off-ramp, while the westbound closure - which begins a bit later on May 27 at 10 a.m. - runs from the Red Hill Valley Parkway to Mohawk Road.
Access to Highway 403 on-ramps and the Rousseaux Street off-ramp will remain open with access from the Golf Links Road/Mohawk Road on-ramps, the city said.
In the case of weather-related changes in the road work plans, updates will be posted at hamilton.ca/lincmaintenance and on Twitter at @CityofHamilton.
Residents in the area can expect an increase in traffic throughout the closure and are warned to give themselves extra time for travel.
