Rollover spills fertilizer on Norfolk County road
Minor injuries were reported after a transport truck carrying a load of fertilizer rolled onto its side while travelling south of Langton on Friday.
The truck left Norfolk County Road 45 and ended up on the shoulder of the highway, with its front end mangled and its cargo strewn on the grass.
The crash could prove particularly costly for area farmers who this year have seen fertilizer prices skyrocket and availability plummet due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Not a great way to start the Victoria Day long weekend," tweeted OPP Acting Sgt. Ed Sanchuk.
He encouraged all motorists to watch out for traffic on what could be an extremely busy" holiday weekend, noting drivers can expect to see more police cruisers on the roadways.
We're asking people to pack an ample supply of patience," Sanchuk said.
