The emergence of images showing Boris Johnson, glass in hand, at a leaving event inside Downing Street amid the lockdown of November 2020, has brought fresh impetus to the controversy over whether the prime minister lied in denying parties had taken place inside No 10. The pictures have also raised a series of questions, both about what Johnson knew, and the conduct of subsequent investigations.
