Bring the heat! Monday, Tuesday expected to hit 30 C in Hamilton
May will end with a bang in Hamilton, with back-to-back scorchers expected to start the week - and plenty of sunshine continuing into June.
Environment Canada is forecasting highs of 30 C both Monday and Tuesday, making the springtime month's climax feel more like peak July.
Gusty winds could temper the heat Monday morning, but that 30 C later in the day May 30 might feel more like 36 with humidity levels.
The weather agency also predicted blazing sunshine, warning of a very high" UV index of 10 beaming down sunburn-producing ultraviolet radiation.
Tuesday's mix of sun and clouds may produce some showers, though only a 30-per-cent chance, Environment Canada says, with a high of 30 C forecast again.
Little relief is expected overnight Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures dipping to lows of 20 C.
By Wednesday - June 1 - the daily temperature is expected to dip, but only to 26, with a higher probability of showers, Environment Canada says. The heat is expected to finally break Wednesday night.
The longer-term forecast suggests we can expect the end of the week to be pleasant and full of sun, with daytime highs near 20 C Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and cooler evenings.
