BRIEFS: N'Stars begin field lax season, United tie in opener

Coghlin strong in losing effort
The Owen Sound Creative Playgrounds North Stars under-19 women's field lacrosse team played their season opener in the Ontario Women's Field Lacrosse (OWFL) Junior Elite Division this past Friday night in Kitchener-Waterloo. Owen Sound was defeated by the Toronto Beaches with a final score of 10-7. Owen Sound's goal scorers were Kennedy Stauffer, Jillian Goldie and Karly Low each with two goals and a single from Emma Bryan. Kennedy Coghlin was named the team's player of the game for her strong defensive play. The North Stars are back in action Friday when they host back-to-back games starting at 7:00 p.m, against Oakville, and at 8:00 p.m versus the Oshawa Lady Blue Knights at the Owen Sound Kiwanis Soccer Complex.
