Price: $3,750,000

Neighbourhood: Flamborough

Features: Located on the city's rural outskirts and just a few minutes' drive away from Mountsberg Conservation Area, this single-storey home is one of a handful of properties in the area that listed for more than $2 million.

Nestled on Mountsberg Road, this three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bathroom home boasts nearly 2,800 square feet of living space and is completely immersed in nature," said Karen Lilja, a salesperson with RE/MAX Escarpment Realty Inc.

Lilja said the house sits on 16 acres of land and features ponds, streams, mature trees and wildlife - including muskrats, painted turtles and bluebirds. There is also a sugar shack, a dock a picnic area and a fire pit.

She noted that the current owners were able to snowshoe, cross country ski, canoe and bird watch throughout the pandemic - without ever leaving home.

It's a magical piece of property," she said. You don't need a cottage with this house."

On the main floor of the home, there is an eat-in kitchen, a large living area with a wood-burning fireplace as well as a den that could be used as an office. The primary bedroom has a six-piece ensuite washroom and a walk-in closet.

Lilja said the home features large, often floor-to-ceiling windows that offer four-season views of the grounds. There is also a three-season gazebo and a patio on the back of the house.

You feel like you're in nature all the time," she said. It's unlike anything that's out there."

Lilja said with ample living space and a short commute to Hamilton, Burlington, Kitchener and Mississauga, the home would be ideal for a family with children or empty nesters - with either wanting their own private sanctuary."

Why is it priced this way? Lilja said they landed on the price of the home after weighing its own unique features and land size against other comparable homes in the city's rural areas.

She pointed to a home on Mineral Springs Road that was recently listed for $3.2 million, but sits on just 1.21 acres of property.
