Motorcyclist charged with stunt driving after Queenston Road crash
A 20-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with stunt driving after crashing his motorcycle into a vehicle turning out of a parking lot onto Queenston Road Thursday night.
Shortly before the crash, on June 2 at 7:45 p.m., Hamilton police received calls about three motorcycles speeding westbound on Queenston.
Soon after another call came in for the crash involving one of the motorcycles and two vehicles near Nash Road.
Police said the investigation revealed one of the vehicles was pulling out of a commercial plaza when it was struck on the driver's side. The motorcyclist was speeding and unable to stop. Debris from the motorcycle stuck a second vehicle, causing damage.
The 20-year-old motorcyclist was ejected during the crash, becoming airborne and landing on the roadway. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated in hospital.
He now faces a stunt driving charge. This includes an automatic 30-day driver's licence suspension and his motorcycle has been impounded for 14 days.
If convicted he could face additional penalties.
The two other motorcyclists, who witnesses said were speeding with the 20-year-old, fled the scene as police arrived.
