'High alert': Reported armed robbery inside Mapleview mall in Burlington under investigation

Halton Regional Police are investigating a robbery inside Mapleview mall in Burlington Saturday afternoon (June 4).

The heist occurred at the Continental Currency Exchange around 3:20 p.m., according to Halton police.

The force's Forensic Identification Unit is on scene.

There are no reported injuries.

Police haven't confirmed the suspects were armed, however the initial 911 calls indicated there were possibly weapons, according to police.

Police are looking for at least two suspects.

The robbery happened during a busy shopping day inside the mall, leaving some customers troubled by what happened.

"Not a good feeling seeing cops and security on high alert here," shopper Magda Chumak said.
