Hamilton in for heavy rainfall
Significant rainfall is on the way for Hamilton.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement Monday afternoon calling for between 25 and 50 millimetres of rainfall and possible thunderstorms in the area.
The precipitation is expected to start Monday night as a cold front approaches from the west, the national weather agency said in the statement, and wrap up by Tuesday evening.
That could change, however. Environment Canada said there is some uncertainty with the track and timing of the cold front," which could lead the agency to adjust its projections.
The Hamilton Conservation Authority is also advising residents of potential watercourse flooding amid the forecast rainfall.
Significant watercourse flooding" may occur if rainfall amounts are on the higher end of the projected range, the HCA said.
Its flood watch remains in effect until Thursday.
