Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur says he isn't concerned with the absence of wide receiver Allen Lazard from the team's minicamp.

"We'd love for him to be here," LaFleur said Wednesday. "Obviously, he's been in our system for a couple years, so I definitely don't have any reservations of him not knowing what to do."

Ahead of what will be Lazard's fifth campaign in Green Bay, the 26-year-old wideout has been a no-show at the club's team facility this offseason after receiving a restricted free-agent tender. He isn't subject to fines since he hasn't signed his deal.

Lazard set career highs in 2021, recording 40 receptions for 513 yards and eight touchdowns. With Davante Adams now a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, Lazard represents a veteran option in a Packers receiving corps that also features Randall Cobb, Sammy Watkins, and rookie Christian Watson.

An undrafted free agent in 2018, Lazard's role has gradually increased within the Packers' offense. The Iowa State product is expected to earn $3.9 million under the one-year tender in 2022, per Over the Cap.

Lazard's quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, is excited to see what his pass-catching group can do next season, noting that the Packers have "some production" but a lot of potential at the position. Similar to LaFleur, Rodgers isn't worried about Lazard missing offseason activities.

"I know he'll be ready when he's here," he said Tuesday.

"He's been our dirty work guy for most of his career here," Rodgers added. "Now he's getting an opportunity to be a No. 1 receiver."
