Rams reward Kupp with 3-year extension worth reported $80M
The Los Angeles Rams and star wide receiver Cooper Kupp agreed on a three-year extension Wednesday, the team announced.
The deal ties Kupp to L.A. for the next five years at $110 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The three-year extension is worth $80 million and includes $75 million guaranteed, which is the highest guarantee ever given to a receiver, Schefter adds.
Kupp still had two years left on his contract, but his $15.75-million average annual salary ranked only 19th among wide receivers, according to Spotrac. The new deal now makes the 28-year-old the NFL's sixth-highest-paid wideout at $22 million per year.
Kupp is coming off a historic campaign. The 2017 third-round pick led the league in catches (145), yards (1,947), and touchdown receptions (16) en route to winning the Offensive Player of the Year award last season. Kupp also put on a show in the playoffs, earning Super Bowl MVP honors after helping L.A. win Super Bowl LVI.
The Eastern Washington product has racked up 5,517 yards and 70 touchdowns on 433 receptions in 71 regular-season games across five seasons with the Rams.
The Rams have rewarded some of their biggest stars with lucrative extensions this offseason after claiming their first NFL title in 22 years. Los Angeles gave signal-caller Matthew Stafford a four-year, $160-million contract in March. The team also made defensive lineman Aaron Donald the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history last week.

The wide receiver position is rolling in cash this year in the NFL, with Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams signing the two biggest contracts ever at the position.
The Las Vegas Raiders acquired Adams from the Green Bay Packers in March and gave him a five-year, $140-million deal. Hill then topped that contract a week later after the Miami Dolphins traded for him and signed him to a four-year, $120-million pact.
A.J. Brown, whom the Tennessee Titans traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in April, also recently inked a four-year deal with Philly worth $25 million annually.
