Features Located near the bottom of the escarpment and a short walk away from the Bruce Trail, this Stoney Creek home is one of two properties in the surrounding area that are listed for more than $4 million.
Nestled on Hilts Drive, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home boasts more than 6,000 square feet of living space and has a Muskoka feel," said Karen Paul, a salesperson with Keller Williams Edge Realty.
Paul said the house, which sits on just under an acre of sloping land that is lined with trees to the back, has an in-ground, heated pool, a large deck and a separate firepit area further below.
When you sit in the backyard, even though you do have neighbours, you look down and forget you're in the city," she said. You really do feel like you're at the cottage."
On the main floor of the home, there is a large, updated kitchen with a centre island, a library featuring a gas fireplace as well as a large family room that backs onto the patio and a laundry room with plenty of storage.
Up the spiral staircase, there are four large bedrooms, two bathrooms and three balconies - two of which come off the bedrooms and look over the backyard.
And in the basement, there is a soundproof media room, a yoga studio, another family room as well as a home gym. Off the studio, there is a two-piece, spa-style bathroom that features a sauna. Part of the basement is also unfinished.
Paul said based on the features of the property as well as its proximity to schools, highways and shopping, the house would be ideal for a family with young children that are looking to upsize."
Why is it priced this way? Paul said they landed on the price of the home after weighing its amenities and lot size against other comparable homes on nearby Ridge Road.
She did, however, note that the sale of the home could set a precedent" as no other properties on Hilts Drive have ever sold in the ballpark of $4 million.
