Three charged in murder of Yua Blut Kaw
Hamilton police have charged three people, including a 17-year-old boy, with first-degree murder in the 2021 shooting death Yua Blut Kaw.
The 18-year-old was walking on Cannon Street East, near Barnesdale Avenue North around 4:35 p.m. Sept. 24 when he was shot. Police said a dark-coloured, four-door sedan approached him and multiple shots were fired from the car.
The brazen shooting was among a string of daytime shootings in which young men were targeted, including several homicides in 2021.
With the help of Ottawa police, search warrants were executed in both Hamilton and Ottawa earlier this month. Three people from Hamilton were arrested June 9.
Nejib Ahmed Nour, 27, Abdaziz Ibrahim Omer, 20, and a 17-year-old male are all charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Det. David Tsuchida at 905-546-4123.
