The 34-year-old also isn't ruling out a return to the field.

"No, no, I'm still leaving that door open as long as I can," Sherman told NFL Network's Steve Wyche. "I'm obviously going to keep training and staying in shape, but gotta take the opportunities when they're there, and this is an amazing opportunity with Amazon, so I couldn't pass it up.

"But I'm going to leave that door open, if somebody wants to call late December and needs some help, I'm happy to help."

Sherman will join Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez as an analyst for TNF pre- and post-game broadcasts as well as the network's halftime show. Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit will provide commentary for the games.

The three-time first-team All-Pro defensive back rose to fame as the face of the vaunted Legion of Boom secondary with the Seattle Seahawks for seven seasons. Sherman was an integral member of Seattle's Super Bowl XLVIII-winning squad.

Sherman, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, also spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. He has tallied 37 career interceptions, returning three for touchdowns throughout his career.
