Man taken to hospital in critical condition after crash in Flamborough

A 22-year-old man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a single-vehicle collision in Flamborough on Tuesday afternoon, the Hamilton police said.

The police responded to a collision at 2:14 p.m. in the area of Brock Road and Concession 8 West in Flamborough, Const. Krista-Lee Ernst told The Spectator.

The sole occupant in the vehicle, the man was driving southbound on Brock Road when his silver two-door vehicle left the roadway," coming to rest on its roof in a ditch.

Witnesses to the collision came to the man's aid until emergency services arrived," the police said in the release.

David Thompson, paramedic service superintendent, confirmed the individual was taken to a local trauma centre in serious condition with multisystem trauma."

The police are investigating the incident south of Freelton and are advising drivers to avoid the area. Brock Road was closed between Regional Road 97 and Concession 8 West.
