Power outage in downtown Hamilton after storm

Some areas in Hamilton downtown are experiencing power outages after the thunderstorm Thursday afternoon.
Residents on Catharines Street to Sanford Avenue, from Wilson Street to Stinson Street, were affected by the power cut, Alectra Utilities reported.
Power is estimated to be restored by 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.
At least 1,284 power customers in the area are affected by the outage.
The agency noted they are currently investigating the cause.
Alectra Utilities crews have been dispatched to make repairs," the provider said.
Some stores and theatres might close early.
Theatre Aquarius said it is cancelling the performance of Ring of Fire" due to the lack of power.
