OPP looking for missing fisherman near Port Maitland
Ontario Provincial Police are searching for a missing 74-year-old man who disappeared while boating near Port Maitland Thursday.
Haldimand County OPP were called for the missing man around 5:20 p.m. June 16. Police were told he had gone fishing around 4 a.m. Thursday and never returned.
Haldimand County OPP, the OPP marine unit and aviation services, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre based out of Trenton, Ont., Niagara police and the Canadian Coast Guard are all involved in the ongoing search.
The search included an OPP helicopter in the area Thursday night.
OPP victim services is assisting the man's family.
OPP said more updates will be provided when information is available.
