An elderly pedestrian was seriously injured late Friday after being hit by a car in central Hamilton.
Emergency crews responded to the area of Sherman Avenue South and Main Street East just after 10:45 p.m. for reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, a man in his late 60s, was taken to hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries, said Dave Thompson of the Hamilton Paramedic Service.
Hamilton police Acting Staff Sgt. Peter Ranieri said the driver, in a dark-coloured sedan, failed to remain at the scene and investigators continue to probe the collision.
