4-year-old boy dies after golf cart collision on Villiers Line near Keene
A four-year-old boy has died after a collision involving a golf cart on Villiers Line, east of Keene.
Peterborough County OPP said the boy succumbed to injuries he sustained during the collision that occurred on Sunday, July 17 at approximately 12:20 p.m. in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township.
OPP say a golf cart with six passengers on board was travelling southbound on Villiers Line near Bellmere Winds Golf Course when it rolled. A young male victim was airlifted to a Toronto area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
The boy died of his injuries while in hospital, say OPP.
An adult female victim was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported at the time of the collision.
OPP say Villiers Line south of County Road 2 was closed for several hours while members trained in collision reconstruction measured and documented the scene.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
