Hamilton police investigating shooting in Stoney Creek
Hamilton police are investigating a shooting in Stoney Creek.
Police were called to the intersection of Centennial Parkway and King Street East around 3:50 p.m. Friday for reports of shots fired.
Const. Indy Bharaj said two unidentified vehicles were involved in the incident, but it remains unclear whether the shots came from one vehicle or both. The cars were gone by the time police arrived.
Police located bullet casings at the scene. No victims had come forward.
That doesn't necessarily mean someone wasn't injured, just that we haven't found any victims," Bharaj told The Spec.
Bharaj said several drivers who witnessed the incident are calling police to offer information.
The intersection was closed as forensics processed the scene, but has since reopened.
Bharaj said there was no immediate indication that Friday's incident was connected to a shooting on Hamilton's west Mountain Thursday night.
Police were called to 77 Purnell Dr. around 9:25 p.m. July 21 where they found a 27-year-old man with a significant gunshot injury.
He was transported to hospital, where he remained in serious, but non-life-threatening condition, Bharaj said. There are no reports anyone else was hurt.
