Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf has reported for training camp, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

By reporting to camp, Metcalf can't be fined by the Seahawks, though it remains unclear if the star wideout will practice with the team without a new contract. The 24-year-old, who skipped mandatory minicamp in June, is entering the last year of his rookie deal.

The one-time Pro Bowler could've been fined $40,000 per day if he hadn't reported for training camp, according to ESPN's Brady Henderson.

Under new CBA, failure to report to camp carries more severe penalties. If a player in final year of his rookie deal doesn't report, his season doesn't accrue toward free agency. Metcalf would be a restricted free agent (as opposed to unrestricted) next spring. He can't hold out. https://t.co/Nh10JPMcNH

Metcalf became the subject of trade speculation since the Seahawks traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. However, the Seahawks have said multiple times they don't plan to move the pass-catcher.

Metcalf has established himself as one of the NFL's most explosive receivers. The Ole Miss product has racked up 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns on 216 receptions since entering the league as a second-round pick in 2019.

The wide receiver position is rolling in cash this year largely thanks to record deals signed by Davante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders and Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins. Other receivers who cashed in this offseason include Metcalf's 2019 draftmates A.J. Brown and Terry McLaurin. Brown was traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Philadelphia Eagles in April and inked a four-year, $100-million deal in Philly, while McLaurin recently agreed to a three-year, $71-million extension with the Washington Commanders.
