Tempers flared during the Buffalo Bills' training camp Saturday.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen shoved defensive lineman Jordan Phillips after getting bumped at end of a play, igniting a brief altercation between offensive and defensive players. Allen was wearing a non-contact jersey.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network noted some defensive linemen were "buzzing around" Allen during practice and "even made contact" before the incident.

Center Mitch Morse, who entered the NFL in 2015 and joined Buffalo in 2019, isn't sure if he's ever seen a quarterback initiate a fight at practice.

"If I have, it's been few and far between," he said, according to Mike Giardi of NFL Network.

But Morse downplayed the incident.

"Immediately, you want him out of that pile," Morse said, according to Matt Parrino and Ryan Talbot of Syracuse.com. "Emotions are allowed to get high - it's an emotional sport. Tensions run high at times, but you never want it to be carried over or get carried away and someone can get hurt."

He added: "Stuff like that, especially on the first day (of pads) is gonna happen. It's just a bunch of fiery competitors out there, regardless of who it is. When Josh comes out like that and has a show of emotion like that it definitely catches your eye. But in the end, it never makes its way to the locker room."
