Canada’s Wonderland evacuated Sunday night after water park fire
Canada's Wonderland was evacuated Sunday night after a fire in the water park, police said.
York Regional Police said on Twitter a structure near Wonderland's water park caught on fire just before 11:30 p.m. They said the park was being evacuated as a precaution because of blowing smoke."
Police said they were on scene to assist Vaughan firefighters evacuate the park.
No injuries were reported.
The fire broke out the same evening Canada's Wonderland held a civic holiday fireworks display. First responders have not linked the fireworks to the fire.
Canada's Wonderland said in a tweet the Splash Works water park will be closed Monday.
