Halton Regional Police have provided an update on a fatal crash in Burlington.

Police on Wednesday (Aug. 3) identified a 24-year-old Burlington man as the motorcyclist killed in the July 30 crash.

It happened just before 11:45 a.m., when police were called to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Appleby Line and No. 2 Sideroad in Burlington.

A red Ducati motorcycle was travelling northbound on Appleby Line and collided with a black Volkswagen Jetta that was turning left from No 2 Sideroad onto Appleby Line.

The male motorcycle rider was "pronounced dead" at the scene, Halton police said in a news release. The driver of the Volkswagen received minor injuries.

"The investigation is ongoing and in the early stages," Const. Steve Elms said. "No charges have been laid at this point in time."

Anyone with information can call police at 905-825-4747 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
