A team of Chinese researchers put 512 GPUs and a "super algorithm" through their paces in an attempt to solve the same theoretical problem that Google crunched with its Sycamore quantum computer back in 2019. The result proves that there's still a long way ahead for quantum supremacy - but the road is being walked as we speak.
