'Violent' crash in Burlington leaves 1 dead
Halton Regional Police are investigating a deadly crash in Burlington.
The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 6) in the area of Waterdown Road and Craven Avenue and involved a motorcycle and another vehicle.
Police said a motorcycle travelling southbound on Waterdown Road struck a northbound Honda SUV.
Emergency officials said Burlington firefighters were first on scene and performed CPR, but the male motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The force's Collision Reconstruction Unit is on scene investigating.
Jim Tristani, who lives in the area, said he heard police and other emergency responders heading to the scene.
"From what people are saying, it sounds like a violent crash," he said.
Police say Waterdown Road will be closed between North Service Road and Flatt Road while police investigate.
