‘An explosive spectacle of fashion and drag’: Drag queens will colour Supercrawl with fashion showcases
This year's Supercrawl promises to make up for its two-years hiatus. With musical and visual performances, fashion showcases, theatre, readings and talks, there is something for everyone.
Organized by local queen Sapphyre Poison, the weekend will bring three drag queen shows to Supercrawl's fashion zone.
Featuring local talents such as Calypso Cosmic, a contestant on the TV show Call Me Mother" on OutTV, Hamilton's drag title holder Miss Rachael Temptation, and a brand-new face on the drag scene, Miss Bang Cock.
Friday's show will be an explosive spectacle of fashion and drag. Both Calypso Cosmic and Rachael Temptation have their own fashion lines," said Poison.
On Sunday, a Supercrawl Drag Xtravaganza" is taking place with another local queen, Diamond Hymen, with The Space Ball" a short musical.
It's a loose story of two Fashionista Darlings who travel Space to represent Earth in the Galactic Space Ball and the hilarities that befall them. It's a story of friendship, aliens, fashion, drag, and of course pop music," said Poison.
The musical stars Poison, Diamond and drag talents Eras Parks and Lady Nova. I'm very excited to bring a different style of drag show to the fashion zone stage," said Poison.
The queens will take over the fashion zone stage on Sept. 9 at 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., and on Sunday at 2 p.m. on Vine Street and James Street North.
