Two Hamilton men arrested in last September’s deadly Mount Hope home invasion
It's been almost a year since armed men forced their way into a Mount Hope home, violently kidnapping a father and killing his son.
Police made two arrests on Wednesday as they continue to investigate the Sept. 16, 2021, kidnapping of Faqir Ali and the killing of Hasnain (Nano) Ali.
Two Hamilton men, John Bartley, 25, and Gino McCall, 35, have been arrested for first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault.
They will make brief appearances in court Thursday.
The arrests come nearly 11 months after police arrested Antoine Chambers, then 25, of Hamilton in relation to the home invasion. Chambers was charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault and "numerous" firearm-related offences.
At that time, investigators announced that they were searching for two other suspects. It's unclear if police are searching for any more.
The Spectator has reached out to Hamilton police for additional information and is awaiting a response.
Police ask anyone with information that could help the investigation to contact Det. Lisa Chambers at 905-546-4843, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit anonymous tips online at crimestoppershamilton.com.
