Ultimate guide of Hamilton bands to check out at Supercrawl

Supercrawl is around the corner and is bringing the best of musical and visual performances, fashion showcases, theatre, readings and talks to Hamilton.

From Sept. 9 to 11, the festival is taking over James Street North for a weekend of fun.

Here is a list of local bands you should definitely check out:

Sarah Harmer

Burlington folk-pop singer and environmental activist Sarah Harmer is stopping in Hamilton during her month-long Are You Gone" tour for Supercrawl. Fans will get to enjoy Harmer's concert on Sunday from 6:45 to 8 p.m. on the TD Stage.

Golden Feather

Hamilton's Golden Feather is taking over the TD Stage on Sunday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Make sure to check out the alternative-rock band with Brad Germain on guitar and lead vocals, Ronson Armstrong providing foundation on bass, lead guitarist Chris Wheeler and Gareth Inkster on the keys - backed by Monster Truck drummer Steve Kiely, on a side project with the band.

The Dirty Nil

The Juno Award-winning rock band should bring a fun crowd of fans after performing at a sold-out Bridgeworks show back in April. Catch Luke Bentham, The Dirty Nil's frontman and guitarist, drummer Kyle Fisher, and bassist Sam Tomlinson on Friday at the TD Stage from 11:30 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.

The Barettas

Hamilton's The Barettas, a sisterhood trio from Hamilton with songs influenced by 60s girl groups, will be hitting the Exclaim Stage on Saturday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Blind Mule

The local quintet with country-boogie sounds is promising an electric concert at Supercrawl to show they are proud to be from Hamilton. Check out Graham Peacefull and Joey Balducchi on vocals and guitar, John Edwards on the banjo, Gabe Atkinson on the bass and Josh Snively on drums. All of that is happening on Sunday at the Exclaim Stage from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Ellevator

The Hamilton band recently released their debut album The Words You Spoke Still Move Me" with 12 tracks at Bridgeworks back in May. Frontwoman Nabi Sue Bersche, guitarist Tyler Bersche and keyboardist/bassist Elliott Gwynne will be taking over Supercrawl on Saturday at the TD Stage from 7 to 8 p.m.

Nezqwik

The four-piece band made up of Aleef Mehdi, Jinu Isac, Ben Duff and Jeremy Hucal defines its sound as groovy and meaningful. The group will be jazzing up the crowd at the Exclaim Stage on Saturday from 12 to 12:45 p.m.

Sarah Good & The Bads

Self-defined as baroque velvet with ferral awe and dark metal with flower petal," Sarah Good & The Bads will bring some soothing and distorted melodies to Supercrawl. The band plays on Sunday at the Exclaim Stage from 12 to 12:45 p.m.

Queen Cee with GSSO and Duckai

Singer and community activist Queen Cee, a.k.a. Queen Dollylama, is bringing her soul and R&B sounds along with house and dance with guests GSSO and Duckai. They take over the Exclaim Stage on Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.

Hamilton Children's Choir and Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra Brass Quintet

Make sure to check out the Hamilton Children's Choir on Saturday at the TD Stage from 12 to 12:45 p.m. and the HPO Brass Quintet on Sunday at the TD Stage from 1 to 1:45 p.m.
