Multiple fires in Oakville neighbourhood after students reportedly set off fireworks

Halton Regional Police several fires that broke out in an Oakville neighbourhood Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 6).

Firefighters were called to the area of Sixth Line and Upper Middle Road, not far from White Oaks Secondary School, Sheridan College and other schools, for reports of multiple grass fires in the area.

Firefighters are working to extinguish the fires and are checking for hotspots.

Halton police confirmed there were reports in the area of students setting off fireworks after school.

There are no reported injuries.
