Jacob Moon concert
Pop and folk singer-songwriter Jacob Moon is live on stage Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church, 320 Charlton Ave. W. Doors open at 7:15 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. concert. Tickets are $25 at the door.
Fall fairs
Get all your fall feels at one or all three fairs and festivals this weekend.
Fergus Fall Fair - fair hours are Friday from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fairgrounds are at Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex, 550 Belsyde Ave., Fergus. fergusfallfair.ca
Binbrook Fall Fair - demolition derby runs Friday at 7 p.m. The 169th Binbrook Fall Fair hours are Friday from 4 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $15 on Friday and Saturday, $10 on Sunday for family and agriculture day. St. George Apple Festival - the apple festival includes bake sales and showcases of over 120 vendors, local farmers, a street dance, local artisans, and unique shops on Main Street. St. George is located on Highway 5, west of Flamborough. stgeorgeapplefest.com

Oktoberfest
Hamilton's Germania Club is hosting their annual Steel City Oktoberfest Saturday from 3 p.m. to midnight. Tapping of the Keg is scheduled around 6 p.m. Family friendly activities run from 3 to 6 p.m. German food, Miss Oktoberfest Contest and live music. Eclectic Local
This free music series continues Saturday on The Gasworks Outdoor Stage, 141 Park St. N., from 5 to 6 p.m. Featured this Saturday is Duo Gelato - award-winning multi-instrumentalists from Quartetto Gelato featuring dazzling artistry and irresistible humour.
Auchmar tours
Residents can tour Hamilton's Auchmar Estate on Sept. 17, 24, Oct. 1 and 15. Hamilton Civic Museums is offering this rare opportunity to join a guided tour of what is considered to be the last surviving country estate on Hamilton Mountain, 88 Fennell Ave. W. Built for the Honourable Isaac Buchanan, a local Scotsman, entrepreneur, politician and civic leader in 19th century Canada.

Street fests
Hamilton's communities offer fun and festive street events, including these ones you won't want to miss this weekend.
- AppleFest along King Street in downtown Stoney Creek is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sundays Unlocked featuring on-street entertainment and Workshop Zone on Hamilton's Locke Street is Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Locke Street is closed to traffic from Hunter to Herkimer between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
- Westdale LIVE continues weekends until Oct. 2 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Walking tours
Hamilton's Stories in the Stones, a free two-hour walking tour at Hamilton Cemetery, 777 York Blvd., runs most Saturdays. Join Robin McKee at 11 a.m. at the gatehouse. This week is Disasters Tour. hamiltonhistory.ca.
Join Bill King Sunday for a free 90-minute walking tour of downtown Hamilton. This weekend, Hamilton's Castles is featured. Meet at King and John streets at 10 a.m.
Poutine Feast
The family friendly Welland Poutine Feast runs daily until Sunday and admission is free. It's all about the curds, says the world's largest touring poutine festival. If you don't get your fill this weekend, you can enjoy Canada's trademark dish in Hamilton Oct. 13 and 14.
