Running back James Conner avoided a significant ankle injury during the Arizona Cardinals' 29-23 OT win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

It's not a serious or long-term issue, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Conner rushed for 25 yards on seven carries to go along with two receptions for 26 yards before exiting Sunday's contest.

Darrel Williams and Eno Benjamin split a majority of the Cardinals' rush attempts with Conner sidelined.

Conner's status for Arizona's game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday remains uncertain. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said the tailback's status is day-to-day as he works through the ankle issue, according to team reporter Darren Urban.

The 27-year-old rushed for 752 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, earning the second Pro Bowl nod of his career. He also tallied 37 receptions for 375 yards.

Arizona rewarded Conner with a three-year, $21-million contract extension in March.
