Lane restrictions start Tuesday on a portion of northbound Red Hill Valley Parkway
Motorists might experience minor delays during rush hours as the city moves to close the northbound merging lane on the Red Hill Valley Parkway (RHVP) from Greenhill Avenue to King Street East for a month starting Sept. 20.
Crew members will be working to complete stormwater management pond maintenance at a pond along the parkway, a release by the city said.
The northbound Greenhill Avenue on-ramp to the RHVP will be completely shut during the weekdays throughout the duration of the project, but will be reopened for traffic on the weekends.
The scope of work includes collecting and hauling sediment that has settled at the bottom of the stormwater management pond to a nearby waste facility.
This would improve the quality of the stormwater discharged to the natural environment, as well as the pond's capacity to accept runoff.
HSR will not be impacted as a result of this work, the city said.
