Experts say healthy lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking and eating more vegetables can lower risk

More than 400 people are being diagnosed with preventable cases of cancer every day in the UK, analysis suggests, prompting health experts to urge people to adopt a healthier lifestyle.

A total of 387,000 people were diagnosed with cancer in 2019-20, and 40% of those cases - about 155,000 - could have been avoided, according to analysis of the latest official data by the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).
