Hamilton police probing suspicious combustion of cube vans

Hamilton police are investigating after two cubes vans suspiciously combusted in a downtown parking lot late Monday night.

Emergency crews responded to the engulfed vans in the area of Cannon and Bay streets around 11:30 p.m.

Police said the fires were quickly extinguished.

Both vans sustained significant damage. The vans could be seen Tuesday morning covered in soot, with one missing its entire front hood.

Const. Krista-Lee Ernst said Hamilton police's arson unit is now probing the incident.
