Two sent to Hamilton hospital after collision south of Ohsweken
Police say alcohol could be a factor in a collision that sent two to hospital with serious injuries just south of Ohsweken Monday evening.
Norfolk OPP responded to a collision involving a pickup truck and an SUV at Indian Line and Mohawk Road around 8:16 p.m.
Alcohol is being considered a contributing factor," said Const. Ed Sanchuk in video posted to Twitter from the scene.
Sanchuk said the driver of the pickup truck had to be extricated by firefighters and was transported to a Hamilton hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV was also transported to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries, he added.
The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team are investigating the collision.
The intersection was closed for over six hours.
