Hamilton police project targets 348 people wanted on outstanding charges
Hamilton police say they have arrested 348 people wanted on outstanding charges in the course of a six-month project that also saw police seize weapons, drugs and cash.
Project Kora began in April and included multiple units from across the police service. The project was designed to hold individuals committing offences accountable," police said in a release.
During the project, police seized weapons including a hatchet, brass knuckles, knives, a pellet gun and a firearm. Drugs seized include 267 grams of fentanyl, more than five grams of crystal meth and 16 grams of cocaine. Police also said they seized nearly $4839. There were 104 additional charges laid.
We know outstanding wanted individuals have a significant impact on Hamilton's crime and are associated with violence in our community" Supt. Mark Stiller said in a statement.
