Ducks' Zegras downs Leafs with OT snipe after Gibson's stellar stop
The Anaheim Ducks snapped their seven-game winless streak in spectacular fashion against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night.
With just under three minutes remaining in overtime, Ducks goaltender John Gibson denied Maple Leafs star Mitch Marner of the game-winner with an outstanding save to keep Anaheim's comeback hopes alive.

Seconds after Gibson's game-saving stop, Ducks phenom Trevor Zegras handed the Maple Leafs their fourth straight loss with a stunning snipe past netminder Erik Kallgren.

Zegras and Dmitry Kulikov scored for the Ducks in the third period to force the extra frame.
Just like in Saturday's loss against the Los Angeles Kings, Toronto opened the scoring in the first period on the power play off a slot shot from Auston Matthews.
Jakob Silfverberg responded for Anaheim right after Maple Leafs forward Alexander Kerfoot missed a tap-in at the other end because he raised his stick in a premature celebration.

The Maple Leafs entered the first intermission with a one-goal lead thanks to a breakaway tally from Denis Malgin, and Calle Jarnkrok made it 3-1 just 45 seconds into the third period with a shorthanded marker.
Things started to fall apart for the visitors soon after. Marner was briefly benched in the final frame after allowing some costly turnovers that helped get the Ducks back into the game, and the winger had an emotional response.

Marner addressed his errors following the 4-3 loss.
"I put a lot on my shoulders, put a lot of pressure on myself and I wasn't happy with that second turnover especially," he said, according to The Athletic's Jonas Siegel. "I want to make sure I'm doing better than that and helping this team win better than that."
The Ducks thought they scored the game-winner with just over five minutes remaining in regulation, but it was overturned due to goalie interference.
The Maple Leafs dropped to 4-4-2 on the season, while the Ducks improved to 2-6-1.
