Ravens' Bateman to undergo season-ending foot surgery

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman will undergo season-ending Lisfranc surgery for a foot injury, head coach John Harbaugh announced Thursday.

Harbaugh said it was Bateman's decision to have the procedure.

The 22-year-old missed two weeks earlier in the season with the foot issue before suffering a setback in Week 8. The Ravens initially predicted Bateman was facing another two-week absence.

Harbaugh said it's likely recently signed veteran DeSean Jackson will play Monday against the New Orleans Saints.

Bateman is third on the Ravens in receiving yards (285) and tied for fourth in catches with 15. Meanwhile, his average of 19 yards per catch ranks third in the NFL.

Baltimore will likely rely even more on its tight end duo of All-Pro Mark Andrews and rookie Isaiah Likely.

Jackson and James Proche are set for expanded roles behind Devin Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson.
