The Philadelphia Eagles placed Dallas Goedert on injured reserve Wednesday after the tight end sustained a shoulder injury.

Goedert will miss at least four games.

The ailment isn't expected to end his season, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter of the Eagles' loss to the Washington Commanders on Monday on a play where Goedert was dragged down by his facemask, according to Tim McManus of ESPN.

Goedert fumbled the ball on the play, which led to a Commanders field goal. The officiating crew didn't call a penalty on the play.

The play was reviewed to see if Goedert fumbled, and referee Alex Kemp didn't see a penalty.

"We didn't see a facemask on the field," Kemp said, according to Zach Berman of The Athletic. "We were reviewing whether he was down by contact or whether it was a fumble and then whether the Washington player who recovered the ball was also down by contact."

Jack Stoll, rookie Grant Calcaterra, and Tyree Jackson are the other tight ends on the Eagles' roster. They have combined for 12 catches for 133 yards and a touchdown in their careers.

Goedert has been a massive part of the Eagles' offense this season, tallying 53 targets in nine games. He has 43 catches for 544 yards and three touchdowns.
