Striking teaching and research assistants picketed at some McMaster University campus entrances Monday.
The job action came after talks broke down between the two sides Friday, when Mac and the union representing TAs and RAs - CUPE Local 3906 - met with a provincial mediator.
Key issues include wages, including closing the pay gap between undergraduate and graduate TAs, guaranteed work and protection against tuition increases.
Local 3906 represents about 2,900 part-time teaching and research assistants.
